Mike Riess

Researcher in applied AI with a PhD in predictive and prescriptive process monitoring and more than ten years of machine learning and AI in industry and research, eight of them in Nordic telecom.

My work concerns decisions in running processes: predicting how they unfold, deciding when to intervene, and evaluating whether AI systems can be trusted with those decisions. Current research covers large language models, agentic systems and their evaluation, with published benchmarks and datasets for Nordic languages.

Before I moved into industry research, I spent five years as a data scientist at Telia in Norway, Sweden and Denmark, working on churn prediction, CRM and crowd insights.
